Friction Coating |
| Fabric can be friction coated to widths of 62” maximum on cotton and most spun synthetic fabrics. The Frictioning process does not add to the original thickness of the greige spun fabric. Uncured compounds are driven
into the interstices of the woven yarn bundles, leaving residual fabric yarns saturated but slightly exposed at the surface of the coating. Frictioning becomes less effective on the cylindrical, smooth walled surfaces of most filament yarns. | |
